  • Steenwijk

Amble through the shopping streets of Steenwijk and discover the extraordinary variety of shops. Don’t forget to finish your day at one of the many terraces or at a cosy restaurant. Steenwijk is also a city for partygoers and event lovers year-round. From Fortress Fetes to a Dickens Christmas. Situated on the edge of the historical town centre is villa Rams Woerthe. A stately property in Jugendstil, from 1899. A varied landscape with water, forests and undulating hills awaits outside the city.

  • Zuiderzee towns & the trading towns

For centuries, Blokzijl, Kuinre and Vollenhove looked out over the Zuiderzee, but the arrival of the Noordoostpolder drastically changed the view. Walking past the Havenkolk in Blokzijl, it is noticeable that the atmosphere and the traditions are still in the air. Kuinre and Vollenhove also evoke images of sea vessels coming in at any moment.
